Things I've done

Radical Wellbeing

On my MFA in Creative Producing, I researched burnout in the creative industries and how we can move towards solving it. This research has led to a practice rooted in wellbeing - my own, and that of the artists and organisations I work with. I furthered this work in 2021 with Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice funding.

I have delivered workshops to Watershed’s Network for Creative Enterprise and worked on wellbeing development with University of the West of England, Theatre Bristol, Sharp Teeth Theatre, Sleepdogs, Wilbee Films and others. I have also worked with the Bristol Improv Theatre on meeting accessibility needs for their staff

Work with Kid Carpet

I have worked with Kid Carpet since September 2019, across several projects including Kid Carpet Asks, Noisy Animals Totally Normal Christmas Party, Epic Fail and Noisy TV.

In this position I have:

  • successfully fundraised from Arts Council England, WECA, Bristol City Council and Battersea Arts Centre’s Moving Root’s touring network

  • assisted in contract negotiations with key partners

  • assisted in the delivery of workshops on failure to Year 5 children in 3 primary schools

  • negotiated lower hire rates on filming space through support in kind from the venue

  • researched and engaged PR support for both key projects

  • drafted contracts for collaborators

  • researched audio and video assets for use in creative projects

  • supported the reimagining of projects through COVID-19

Work with Trigger

With Trigger I was Assistant Producer from August 2019-April 2020 and again from November 2020-September 2021. In that time, I provided support across the programme, working on The Hatchling, Curio, Imaginary Advice and WithYou.

In this position I:

  • When the company went through a period of rapid growth, I was able to focus my efforts on The Hatchling. My focus was on contracts, research, procurement and evaluation.

  • I produced access provisions for The Hatchling, ensuring BSL interpretation, Audio Description and a quiet zone for the event and Easy Read info for the website.

  • was responsible for a 500% uplift in audience feedback in sharings

  • assisted with the installation of Curio when it toured to Illuminate Light Festival in Plymouth

  • maintained the organisation’s website and social media

  • developed a funding bid for an associate artist scheme

  • developed relationships with Kickstarter UK and US’s arts and culture leads

  • developed a crowdfunding plan for a major outdoor arts project.

When it rains

When It Rains is an experiment in improvised theatre that debuted in July 2018. It is an attempt to give the audience two distinct experiences as part of one show, and the start of an ongoing exploration of how technology can be integrated into improvised theatre.

Backline

Backline is an organisation I set up in Bristol to support improvisers. Whether you've just heard of improv and want to find out where to do it, or you have an amazing show and you're not sure how to go about touring it, we want to be able to provide advice and support for your problems.

Cut to the flashback

Cut To The Flashback was a show created as part of The Unscripted Players Big April Show 2018. It is an improvised clip show for a long running TV show that doesn't exist.
